San Blas Islands

[San Blas Islands Image]

San Blas Islands. We are anchored in the East Hollandes chain of islands here. In the background there is a small village with 4 families of Kuna Indians living there. The Kunas survive on diet staples of bananas, coconut, and fish. They trade and sell handcrafted items to the visiting yachtees and are a very kind and gentle people, not nearly as primitive as one might assume.

[Victor Image]
Victor, the local chief, pays us a visit and collects $5 a month to anchor near his village.
